Italian Reds

Falesco Vitiano - Equal parts of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, & Sangiovese in this wine from Umbria combine to offer up a nose of blackberries, cassis, licorice and subtle toast scents.  Full-bodied, seamless and mouth filling. Great wine for the money.  $32

 

Umani Rochi Montepulciano d’ Abruzzo  - A mellow, dry red with pleasing aromas and fresh fruit on the palate a great Italian food wine for the money.            $19

Centine Castello di Banfi - Rich & plummy on the outset this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Sangiovese is rich, and delicious with a finish of soft tannins. $29

 

Santa Christina Sangiovese  - A beautiful blend of 90% Sangiovese & 10% Merlot. This wine is rich with deep, ripe fruits nicely balanced with a soft, pleasant acidity. $ 29

 

Dei Vino Nobile – An extremely well made wine in total harmony, with blackberry, vanilla, and a cherry/chocolate undertone.  Long, long finish in this full-bodied refined beauty. $48

 

Banfi Rosso di Montalcino - Tons of ripe fruit with earthy & dried berry aromas. This medium-bodied wine has soft tannins & a long fruity aftertaste. Very elegant. $42

 

Villa di Capezzana Carmignano - This blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet has lovely refined aromas of blackberry & cherry, and dark fruit with hints of flowers.  The complexity continues in the mouth. A beautifully textured, elegantly refined Tuscan red. $52

 

Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino - This wine shows an incredible concentration of fruit, with loads of berries and spices on the nose. Full-bodied, with soft and silky tannins and lots of smoky character. An incredibly lengthy finish. Awesome! $95

Lucignano Chianti colli Fiorentini – Lush, ripe fruit with a touch of eucalyptus are the predominant flavors in this delicious Chianti.  $ 28

 

Banfi Chianti Classico – An exceptional Chianti Classico in this price range from the highly regarded winery Castello di Banfi. An alluring aroma of cherry blossom leads to a nicely rounded fruit and a crisp finish. This wine will match with many of our foods. $32

 

Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico  - 2 years in small oak barrels give this wine a polished texture and toasty oak nuances. An outstanding Classico! $ 42

 

Bibbiano Chianti Classico - Delicious, with blackberry and silky floral character. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh, minerally finish. $36

 

Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva – Great Chianti for the money, this fine dry wine has robust mouth filling flavors & a lingering finish. $39

 

Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Riserva - A fine, polished red with a hint of evergreen on the nose leading to dark cherry nuances and a nice dose of chocolate in the smooth finish.  ½ bottle only. $28

 

Castellare Chianti Classico Riserva – Barrique aged the wine exhibits brilliant color with beautiful aromas of flowers and vanilla. Flavors of rich, ripe fruits and a hint of smoke follow to the long finish. $54

 

Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva Il Poggio - Gorgeous Chianti from “the vintage of the century”!  Focused aromas of plum, dried cherries & berries.  Full-bodied & polished, this is one for Sangiovese lovers & anyone who appreciates an elegant, classic, fine wine. $90

Allegrini La Grola Valpolicella Classico Superiore - This single-vineyard Valpolicella has a spectacular deep ruby color & a knockout nose of black cherries & blackberry fruit. A full-bodied complex wine with a velvet texture in pure harmony, seamless to the long finish. $39

 

Allegrini Palazzo della Torre - A gorgeous wine made in the Ripasso style.  It is rich & polished with intense raisins, berries, cocoa & spice aromas.  Full-bodied with crushed velvet tannins & a long, minty, berry & cherry finish. $46

 

Zenato Valpolicella Classico - Plum & spicy cherry flavors dominate this medium-bodied fairly dry wine. A long time Bent Noodle favorite. $32

 

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico - Deep purple in color with a bouquet full of dark plums & dried fruit. Rich, full-bodied & packed with concentrated fruit, very elegant & velvety smooth. $85

Coppo Barbera D’ Asti Camp Du Rouss - This is an unfiltered, barrique-aged wine offering a dark purple color with a sweet nose of blackberry.  A super clean wine with great fruit & spice, toasty oak & a full-bodied, intense finish. $40

 

Ceretto Rossana Dolcetto D’ Alba – A great example of what the Dolcetto grape should be; fresh fruit, deep purple color and wonderful balance. $38

 

Travaglini Gattinara - This outstanding red made from the Nebbiolo grape is nicely perfumed, with subtle fruit underlying sweet lingering tannins. $45

Oxford Landing Shiraz Australia – Aromas of dark cherry and clove evolve on the palate to ripe red berry fruit, a healthy dose of spice and a hint of mocha. A soft, luscious texture finishes this beauty. $28

 

Rex Goliath Pinot Noir  A richly textured Pinot with black and red cherry flavor bursting on the palate. Very nicely complex with great balance and soft tannins. $ 28

 

Trumpeter Merlot Argentina – Deep dark fruits profile this lush wine. Rich and creamy with a hint of mocha through the long finish make this a real beauty for the price especially. $26

 

Columbia Crest Grand Estates Merlot Washington - Ripe, plump & generous with its fresh cherry, dried cherry, dark plum & sweet spice flavors, nicely framed with toasty oak as the fruit persists impressively on the long finish. Voted Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines of 2004 $29

 

Chateau Souverain Zinfandel California - Brimming with blackberry, black cherry & vanilla flavors that keep echoing long after in its generous finish. $36

 

Buena Vista Carneros Pinot Noir California – Great body and depth for Pinot Noir with great intensity full flavors of spice and earth with a core of wild berry and cherry.  $39

 

Montage Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon California - This impressive wine has a rich supple texture & an intense long finish.  Black currant & a hint of chocolate character add a nice complexity. $28

 

Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon California- Elegant, rich & velvety.  This full-bodied red is focused with a core of black cherry, mineral & toasted oak.  Firm tannins finish this beautiful wine. $49

 

Columbia Winery Otis Vineyard Yakima Valley Cabernet - Smooth and polished, an elegant red with depth of flavor that sneaks up on you. Currant, blackberry, smoky spice and dried flower flavors compete for attention, building in intensity as the fine tannins subside on the long finish. Voted Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines of 2004  $48

Tieffenbrunner Pinot Grigio - Packed with ripe melon & citrus fruits, this fairly dry Italian white is supple in texture & carries a crisp, cleansing finish.            $29

 

Fazi-Battaglia Verdicchio Classico - A delicious Italian white; round & full of peach & apple and grapefruit flavors.  A mounting & pleasantly clean finish leaves your palate refreshed. $29

 

Costamolino Vermentino - Medium-bodied, very smooth & dry with fruity, fresh flavors. Crisp, cold and quenching. One of my favorite Italian whites. $28

Stone Cellars Pinot Grigio – This lovely wine from Beringer vineyards showcases crisp, bright fruit flavorss of green apples, citrus and melon. $17

Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay Russian River Ranches – A beautiful expression of the Chardonnay varietal made in the burgundian style with delicous citrus flavors offset with round pear and melon nuances. $38
